What is Modern Cupping Therapy?

Modern Cupping (often called Myofascial Decompression) is distinct from traditional static cupping. While traditional methods focus on "energy stagnation" and leaving cups in one spot, our approach is active, anatomical, and movement-based.

At Redux Movement, we use silicone and vacuum cups to create negative pressure (suction). This lifts the skin and fascia away from the muscle, creating space for fresh blood to enter and allowing tight tissue layers to glide freely again.

The "Shearing" Effect We don't just let you lie there. We often glide the cups along the muscle fibers or ask you to perform specific movements (like a squat or shoulder press) while the cups are attached. This "shearing" force breaks up adhesions and restores mobility much faster than passive stretching.

Movement-Based Decompression

Unlike traditional static cupping, Modern Cupping Therapy involves movement. We glide the cups or have you move your limb while the cups are attached.

This creates a "shearing" effect that:

  1. Decompresses tight fascia and muscles.

  2. Increases nutrient-rich blood flow to the injured area.

  3. Breaks up adhesions that restrict your range of motion.

Our Unique Approach to Modern Cupping Therapy

At Redux Movement, we do cupping differently by targeting myofascial work, trigger points, and fluid exchange to maximize results:-

This specialized method focuses on releasing fascial restrictions, deactivating trigger points that cause referred pain, and facilitating fluid exchange to reduce swelling and improve tissue health. It's particularly effective for musculoskeletal issues faced by active individuals in Mississauga and the GTA.
By emphasizing these elements, our Mississauga cupping therapy experts provide personalized care that delivers tangible improvements. Patients often report reduced pain and quicker recovery times, even after just one session.

Why Choose Our Mississauga Cupping Experts?

We treat Cupping as a clinical tool, not a spa add-on.

Decompression

Decompression

Most manual therapy compresses tissue (pushes down). Cupping decompresses tissue (pulls up). This unique force is essential for releasing nerves and vessels trapped by tight fascia.

Blood Flow

Blood Flow

The suction brings nutrient-rich, oxygenated blood to the area to speed up tissue repair.

Neuromodulation

The sensation of the cups can help "distract" the brain from pain signals, lowering your overall sensitivity.
